House of Jerky produces the best jerky that we have ever eaten!    We are sailors and hikers, and have often taken jerky with us on such occasions.   Generally we have found it to be edible, although exceedingly tough.   We have just tried all the House of Jerky’s products, and they are excellent - very flavorful and quite tender, even the buffalo and venison, which we expected to be tough.   We travel a lot and have already taken them on road-trips and airplane journeys.   We would recommend them highly for those purposes.  They are much better and more nutritious than a lot of airline food and fast foods  The packages are small and light weight.   The only caution for eating while traveling is that the teriyaki versions are rather sticky - delicious enough so that you will want to lick your fingers - you might want to wash your hands, too.
